WELCOME

The Central California Fast Pitch Softball Legacy Project was organized to document and communicate the history of fast pitch softball to current and future generations. Our mission statement reads: “to preserve and promote the legacy of fast pitch softball in Central California.”

This website is dedicated to all the former players and fans who participated and witnessed a very unique sport during the time it was the most popular; the 1940s, ’50s, ’60s, and ’70s.

For the players, it was challenging yet exhilarating to play such a fast-paced sport where quick reaction time was necessary to throw out a runner on a ground ball or to hit a pitch coming from 46 feet and moving up or down at different speeds.

For the fans, the game moved along at a quick pace and was fun to watch as the pitchers often dominated. In the small towns of Central California watching and cheering for the local team was often a family affair bringing together a community for an evening of entertainment.

So, browse through our website and reminisce or learn about fast pitch softball as recorded during its most popular time.
